Update on Redthreaded's Operations

Hey everyone, here's an update on where we're at with business operations in these strange times.

Our state is now under a strict Stay at Home order. This means all nonessential business must cease operating at their business premises today. Luckily, I've just finished converting a shed on our property into a lovely little sewing studio/home office. We're moving all of our existing inventory there so I can continue filling orders. However, this does mean some logistical changes, as follows:

  • Return & Exchange processing will be delayed. All returns will still ship to the lockbox at the studio location, and will be collected once a week. Our Return/Exchange policy remains unchanged otherwise.

  • We are suspending new custom orders while the Stay at Home order is in place. It's too complicated to generate custom patterns and get them out to the team at their homes and frankly, I don't have the head space for it.

  • We don't know when we'll get more paper patterns, busks, or tshirts in stock. Our suppliers for these are also local small businesses who are closed under the same order. We're pretty well stocked right now but that won't last. However, you can always purchase digital patterns in our Etsy shop.

  • Backordering is still available. Our team is working from their homes and are able to make corsets to order. Processing time remains 3-6 weeks.

I'm going to take this time to get a LOT of video filmed and edited, so keep an eye out on our YouTube channel and Patreon.

Thank you all so much for your patience while we sort out how to stay open in these unprecedented times. We are so thankful for the support of this wonderful community. We see your orders, messages, and shares of our work, and it helps and encourages us.

A final note on packages. COVID-19 has been reported to stay active on plastic for up to 3 days, and cardboard for up to 24 hrs. If you're concerned about physical items being delivered to your home, we suggest starting a package quarantine. Carefully place the package in a safe spot for a few days before handling and opening, and then you don't have to worry. To facilitate this, we are waiving all signature requirements for shipments.

Stay safe, be well, and thank you for your support.
