Does Redthreaded still make corsets?
As of December 2025, Redthreaded no longer makes corsets and is solely a pattern and kit business. Learn more about this major business shift here.
How do I pick a pattern size?
Visit our Sizing Chart page for information and instructional video to determine your closest size. Generally it is easiest to choose based on your underbust and waist measurements and then adjust the bust accordingly by grading between sizes, slashing and spreading, or using different size bust gores depending on era. We always recommend making a mockup to check fit.
Now that I've made it, how do I wear/care for my corset?
Detailed instructions and videos can be found at our Wear & Care page . While these were intended for our previous line of in-stock corsetry, the information applies generally.
Can I teach a class utilizing your patterns for my school/group/site?
Yes, we simply request that a retail pattern is purchased for each class participant to comply with our copyright. If you are teaching a large class and would like to discuss a bulk discount on supply kit orders, please contact us.
How "accurate" are your patterns?
Our corset and stays patterns are historically accurate in silhouette and pattern shaping, but are intended to be machine sewn with techniques that are a blend of historical methods and modern theatrical methods. We choose one or the other by taking into consideration durability, visual appeal, alterability, and construction ease for 21st century sewists.
Do you have a retail storefront?
Redthreaded does not have a retail storefront or studio space that allows public visitors.
Can I work or intern for you?
As of 2025, Redthreaded does not have employees and does not offer internships.
Will you donate product to my cause/school/production?
Generally, no, we are unable to fulfil these sorts of requests.
