Stock Update for May 2020

Hey there, here we are with April nearly drawing to a close. We've had some developments with supplies, stocking, etc and wanted to update you all.

Corset Kits

Unfortunately, our coutil wholesaler in the UK is closed indefinitely due to COVID-19. We had a large pending order with them which was not processed before their closure. We had a lot of coutil stocked up, but we've sold a lot of kits over the past 6 weeks. We are now at a point where we must stop restocking kits so that we can reserve our remaining coutil stock for our own corset inventory.

This means corset kits will not be restocked for the foreseeable future. We understand this is disappointing. We recommend shopping with Richard the Thread, Corsetmaking.com, or Burnley & Trowbridge for your corsetry and staymaking needs.

Wooden Busks & Patterns

However, we have good news on the busk and pattern front. Both of our local sources for these items are up and running at limited capacity, which means we can continue to print more patterns. Our busk manufacturer is working on an order for us this week, so these will be restocked very soon.

Corsets

The team is working from their homes on backorders and stock corsets. We'll start updating website inventory with new stock shortly. Starting next week, Allison will be back working solo in the studio, which will increase our productivity as well. Our goal is to have almost everything back in stock by approximately July, though that will depend a bit on the whole coutil situation.

Thanks for reading and stay safe everyone!

  • Liz, our utmost apologies. We are dependent on our local manufacturer who is also a small business suffering the effects of COVID-19. We appreciate your patience and hope to have them in stock very soon.

  • Hi there, all of our patterns and products listed as in-stock on our website are ready to ship. Shipping times vary widely depending on where you are located (USA or international).

We have not considered riding corsets, since we’ve had less than a handful of inquiries for them over the past decade, it would not be a viable business decision.

We are always happy to answer any and all questions about our shipping times, stock numbers, and products via email info @ redthreaded.com, or you can check our Policies and FAQ pages for more information.

  • Thank you, Cynthia and everyone at Redthreaded. I sincerely hope that you are able to weather this storm better than expected. I hope to support you myself by purchasing a pattern or two after finances are assessed.
About how long do you think it would take for a paper pattern to arrive after purchase? Do you have to get them printed first before sending off, or do you have a pretty good stock on hand?
Also, I know that this might be not the best time to ask, but I was wondering if you have considered doing riding corsets from any era? I know that’s probably far off – if ever – in your minds, but it’s something I’d for sure be interested in.
Best of wishes to the team,
    Katie

  • Looks like the curved busks are still out of stock…. I keep checking, in hopes that they will return :)
    Really tough these days.
