Historical Bum Rolls
Our bum rolls are designed for early to mid 18th Century silhouettes, where we see a wider, boxier silhouette. However, these can also work well for more upper class Elizabethan silhouettes.
All skirt supports are made from the same high quality cotton sateen that we use for the fashion fabric on our corsets, so the undergarments coordinate. The rolls are stuffed with polyester fiberfill, which is lightweight and slow to collapse. A twill tape band ties at the waist, and is long enough to be tied at the side instead of center front, if you wish to cut down on bulk beneath your bodice point.
A NOTE ON SIZING: The models are wearing the size Small in all photos. The center "opening" of the roll does increase with sizes. Therefore, the rolls are more fit-specific than the split pillows or the bustles.
All Redthreaded skirt supports are handmade in small batches by a local non-profit. Partnership with Mile High Workshop allows us to bring you more historical accessories than we would otherwise be able to make in-house, and to help create even more jobs within our community. We are proud to help bring manufacturing back to the USA!
