1750's-1770's Strapless Stays -- Synthetic Whalebone
These strapless, half-boned stays are based on styles from the mid-18th Century. This style utilizes historical shapes, theatrical construction techniques, and synthetic whalebone to bring you an accurate silhouette. Read more about synthetic whalebone here.
These stays are based on the same pattern as our steel-boned closed front stays, with adjusted front point shaping and top edge shaping. Strapless stays allow a greater range of motion in the shoulders, making them a good choice for camp follower impressions or costumes where a lot of movement is required.
Cut in one bound tabs, English cotton coutil strength layer, twill lining, and spiral lacing with two piece nickel grommets up center back. The fashion fabric is cotton sateen in a gorgeous buttercream color. The side seams are alterable. Plus Sizing (18-26 Womens) features additional boning for added support.
All Redthreaded corsets are handmade by us in our Colorado studio. Please see our other listings for custom sizing, corsetry for other historical periods, avant garde corsets, and other costume pieces.
Please see our Policies page for important information regarding payments, shipping, returns, and customs. International buyers are responsible for all VAT/customs fees. Under no circumstances will a shipment be marked as a "gift" or at reduced value.
