Hi folks, if you follow Redthreaded on social media you probably know we have been busy sewing up stock for the Jane Austen Festival in Louisville, Kentucky. The event is just around the corner: July 14-16 at historic Locust Grove. It is almost time to pack up the car.
I would love to have you come visit Redthreaded in the Shops at Meryton, where I will be sharing a booth with Dames a la Mode. I am also pleased to announce that we will have an assortment of accessories from Burnley & Trowbridge available at our booth.
Here is one of the projects we've developed specifically for the Festival. This year is a poignant one for Jane Austen fans: the 200th anniversary of her death.
I asked Jennifer Thompson of Festive Attyre to design memento mori busks for the occasion. This is such a special project because Jen was one of my first costume mentors and I have been an admirer of her beautiful art for years. I am so glad she said yes to this collaboration!
These busks will ONLY be available at JAF in 14" and 12" lengths. We have smaller door hanger/ornaments as well, for those who do not want or need a full busk. If they don't sell out, I will list the rest here.
Tomorrow (July 8) is the last day for guaranteed prompt shipping on in-stock orders. After that, all orders may experience a 1-2 week delay while I am away.
My trip to Los Angeles for Costume College is rapidly approaching too! We will have shipping delays again between July 24 and August 7th.
I am planning a little unofficial corset fitting "salon" again. Rumor has it there may be champagne and nibbles this year as well. I can't bring everything, so if you would like to try a specific style and size corset, please let me know so I can be sure to pack it.
MYTHS AND LEGENDS CONVENTION: August 5-7, you can shop Redthreaded at Myths and Legends convention in Northglenn, CO, where I will be sharing a booth with Frontier Millinery.
This is a very busy month for my business, so thank you all so much for your patience with me (I'm a customer service/email/facebook/Instagram/etsy team of one!), and for getting your orders in quickly.
Much love to all of you, and I hope to meet some of you in the next month! Back to the sewing machine...
